Valeria Márquez, a 23-year-old woman, was tragically killed in a shooting on the afternoon of May 13 at a beauty salon in western Zapopan, Jalisco. The State Prosecutor’s Office has confirmed that the case is being investigated as a possible femicide.
The attack occurred around 6:30 p.m. at a salon located on Avenida Servidor Público in the Colonia Real del Carmen neighborhood. Initial reports indicate that a man entered the establishment and allegedly opened fire on Márquez, who died at the scene.
Municipal police responded to a 911 emergency call and confirmed her death upon arrival. Paramedics also arrived but found no signs of life.
